ImageA visit to Rome is like overloading your senses. It is also like walking through a painting of time itself.

Rome, the capital of Italy, is over 2,700 years old and steeped in history. It is also the centre of the Catholic Church. People here are on the move everywhere and nearly everything you might want to do or see is within walking distance. The city, which is the most visited in the world, is home to numerous ancient monuments. The most important sites to be seen are Vatican City, the Coliseum and the ruins of Circus Maximus. Apart from the many museums, there are many art galleries displaying world famous paintings and sculptures from artists such as Raphael, Bottecelli, Pinturicchio and Belini. Vatican City is also located here, home to the Pope; it is the smallest independent state in the world. A major tourist attraction is the Sistine Chapel, which was painted by Michelangelo in 1508.
In Rome, tourists alike mingle through and past the stunning and vast areas of antiquity, intimate piazzas where buildings are a harmonious mix of ancient structures and modern additions. There are refreshing fountain-filled piazzas and a multitude of cafes and restaurants where one can relax and soak in the essence of Rome. People and buildings seem to form a homogenous whole and this no-break relationship between them here also makes the tourists feel connected and welcome.
