Driving Tips
Sana’a is not one of the friendliest cities to be driving around in. The traffic is chaotic, rules are usually disregarded, and fellow drivers are often impatient and impolite.
Some cars on the road may be missing indicator lights and side mirrors, making abrupt turns right in front of you, sending you swerving off or braking hard if you are at their tail. Accidents, therefore, are somewhat of an everyday sight.
Road signage is very rare, making navigation pretty difficult if you do not know the city well.
Parking can be quite difficult to find, especially in the city center. When you do find a parking space, make sure it is not within a no-parking zone. One task policemen in Sana’a are very efficient at doing is handing out parking tickets.
