Bicycles for hire
One of the best way to get around Zurich is by bike. The city is relatively flat and compact, with moderate temperatures, making it ideal for bicycles. It’s also an excellent way to get to know the city at street level. Zurich’s traffic laws emphasize pedestrians and cyclists, so the experience is pleasant and not stressful.
From May through October, stands throughout Zurich offer rentals during the day from around 07:00 through 21:00 (they’re available year round at the central train station). You’ll need a CHF20 deposit as well as valid identification in order to rent the bikes. Try to get there early, as they go quickly.
