There are many great operators not mentioned here. One can book trips with the international operators directly from country of origin. They will have affiliates in Nairobi. The Kenyan Association of Tour Operators lists all the recognized operators in Kenya, with most based out of Nairobi. Besides Safaris almost all operators organize day trips within and around Nairobi. Their website is http://www.katokenya.org/

The country’s largest air ticketing agency, Bunson Travel, has an office on the Upper Concourse at Gigiri (624980/5) .Village Market also houses offices of Bunson and the excellent safari company, Gamewatchers (523129), which offers tailor-made itineraries to Tsavo and the Maasai Mara, with comfortable mobile camps and excellent hosts.

There is also the efficient office of Muthaiga Travel just up the road at the Muthaiga Shopping Centre.
While Bunson is focused on air tickets and travel outside Kenya, Nairobi still touts itself as Africa’s ‘safari capital’ and there is no shortage of travel agents and consultants to arrange safaris within Kenya, as well as camp offices and the headquarters of the major hotel groups for direct bookings.
For safaris to the major game parks, you will also need to visit the Kenya Wildlife Service headquarters to buy and add credit to a KWS Smartcard.

There are also a large number of domestic and charter airlines offering flights to the main game parks and tourist destinations. The most reliable of these are Airkenya and SafariLink, which offer daily scheduled flights to the Maasai Mara, Samburu and Amobseli, while Airkenya also flies to Lamu and SafariLink has daily schedules to Tsavo and Nanyuki.
