Every year since 1993, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth opens the doors of the Buckingham Palace to the public. Visitors can also observe a display detailing what goes on behind the scenes to create the pomp for official state visits, including dresses worn, menu ingredients and the porcelain guests get to eat from.

Around 400,000 guests are expected to climb up the palace's grand staircases and into the opulent state rooms during its July 25 to September 27 opening, getting the chance to look around one of the world's most recognizable landmarks.

For a few pounds more, they can even sample royal tea and cakes during the visit.
