Abu Dhabi Will Host Four More Trade Shows

Abu Dhabi added four more major trade shows to its portfolio to be held over the next year. The event organizer, Nexus Global Events, said more than 20,000 visitors will attend the four shows. The MICE industry now accounts for more than 10% of Abu Dhabi’s total number of business travelers. MICE stands for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions. The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) has been trying to expand MICE as part of a wider plan to attract 2.3 million tourists by 2012. Earlier this year ATDA launched Advantage Abu Dhabi, an initiative offering government support to those who bring business events like conferences and exhibitions to the capital.
