Air India Pilots Arrested Over Sharjah-Delhi Scuffle

An Air India pilot and co-pilot were arrested over a scuffle that ensued during a flight from Sharjah to Delhi, in which pilots were accused of assaulting an air hostess. They were later released on bail it was reported on Wednesday. Police questioned pilot Ranbir and co-pilot Aditya Chopra on Tuesday night regarding the mid-air scuffle that occurred on October 3. The Air India flight was over Pakistan when the incident occurred, carrying 106 passengers and crew on board. Air India said that no passengers were ever at risk during the flight. Air hostess Komal Singh told police she was molested and assaulted inside the cockpit during the trip to Delhi. Air India subsequently suspended a senior pilot and flight purser. The co-pilot will remain off the roster until after the investigation is complete.
