Air India Tire Bursts Before Take Off In Sharjah

A Boeing 737-800 Air India Express flight bound for Kerala had a tire burst just before take off from the Sharjah International Airport. The incident occurred at 12:10 pm on Tuesday. The pilot aborted takeoff. No passengers were hurt but the runway was closed for two hours. One passenger said the tire blow out occurred two seconds before the plane was to lift off. Sharjah Civil Defence and other official disembarked the passengers who were then flown on another flight arranged by Air Arabia to Trivandum. Chairman of Sharjah Civil Aviation said Civil Defense declared an emergency and closed the runway to ensure the safety of other flights.
