Arab Air Carriers Endorse Carbon Emissions Software

Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) has endorsed new software that accurately measures aircraft emissions. The air transport information technology company SITA said four airlines from the Middle East, Europe, and the US are testing their newly developed Aircraft Emissions Manager. Airlines must complete their plans for monitoring and reporting carbon dioxide emissions to the European Union by 31 August 2009. SITA has completed one test and three more are in process. AACO said they are the first organization to formally endorse SITA’s Aircraft Emissions Manager. AACO Secretary General said their organization is satisfied the SITA program will allow their member airlines to “provide 100 per cent accurate on our emissions to the EU”
