Club Med To Open Resort In Oman

French hospitality operator Club Med will launch its first Gulf resort in Oman. Club Med is known for its all inclusive packages. Oman based Muriya Tourism Development company signed an agreement yesterday with Club Med, although an opening date has not yet been set. Senior vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels Middle East and North Africa said the Club Med brand “reached its peak in the 1970s and 1980s when it virtually reached the household brand [name] status in France, as well as more generally in Europe and the US.” Chiheb Ben Mahmoud said the Club Med concept was based on all inclusive packages including participative entertainment and staged interactions between guests and sports and entertainment leaders. Muriya said it will bring fun and sophistication and all the best of Club Med to the Salalah Beach development.
