Dubai Hotel RevPar Decline Slows

Dubai hotels revenue per available room (RevPar) declined 24% in July to US$107.09 (Dh393.35), a significant improvement over the 33.9% fall the previous month. RevPar is an important measure of the health of the hotel industry. Occupancy levels in Dubai hotels increased to 65.1% in July from the previous month, but were still down from last July’s occupancy rate of 71.7%. Average daily rates fell 16.4% to $164.48. Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing has been working together with hoteliers and Emirates Airlines to bring more tourists back to the emirate during this time of reduced global demand. Global managing partner at Deloitte said “The responses by the industry in Dubai are absolutely working.”
