Dubai Hotel RevPAR Drops 32.3 Percent In January-November

STR Global data of hotel performance in the Middle East between January 2009 and November 2009 shows that revenue per available room (RevPAR) declined 32.3 percent to $163.36, compared to the same period in 2008. This latest performance review by STR Global and Deloitte is somewhat better than the last analysis of the first ten months of the year, when Dubai hotel RevPAR declined 33.8 percent and occupancy fell 13.1 percent. Overall, hotel occupancy in the Middle East fell 10.1 percent to 61.9 percent during the first 11 months of the year, compared to the same period last year. RevPAR for Middle East hotels declined 17.9 percent to $125.37, slightly higher than the data recorded for the first ten months of the year.
