Industry executives agree that after many months of falling occupancy rates, the hospitality industry may have turned a corner. Dubai revenue per available room (RevPar) dropped 24 per cent in July compared to 40 per cent drops earlier in the year. Marriot’s Jim Strachan said forward bookings for the last quarter are looking good and room rates for November may be higher or close to the room rates for November last year.
