Dubai International Traffic Up 19.5 Per Cent

Passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport increased 19.5 per cent in September compared to the same period last year. This is the highest monthly growth rate since October 2007, when passenger traffic increased 25.9 per cent, and the fourth consecutive month of double digit passenger growth. The airport expects to break the 40 million passenger mark forecast for 2009, if the average monthly throughput of 3.2 million passengers continues. Continued growth in passenger traffic at the airport through the fourth quarter is expected. CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffith said Dubai International is the only airport among the top ten airports worldwide to show positive growth in international passenger traffic every month this year.
