Dubai Mall Attracts 160,000 Visitors

The Dubai Mall was officially launched on 8 May, opened in November, and has already attracted more than 160,000 visitors, more than ten percent of the city’s population. The mall is the largest indoor shopping center in the UAE as measured by internal floor space, and has the country’s largest collection of international retail brands in one building. Emmar Properties chairman said the mall is the catalyst of the country’s economy. It has generated 10,000 new jobs since December and 37 million visitors are expected this year. Emmar Mall group, together with its retail partners have invested Dh20 million in the mall.
