Dubai’s Westin Hotel Will Close For 24 Hours

A Westin Hotel spokesman confirmed they are closing for 24 hours so its air conditioning system can undergo maintenance. Earlier this year three former guests of the hotel were diagnosed with Legionnaires disease. The hotel spokesman said the planned closure on 16 July is not taking place because of any new concerns. All guests who have booked stays at the Westen Hotel on 18 July will be moved to the Meridien Mina Seyahi, then transferred back again on Monday night. In February, infectious disease experts were not able to determine whether legionella was present in the Westen Hotel. Tests began following the death of a former guest Bill Frindal. It was not known whether he contracted Legionnaires disease. Bill Frindal was the British cricket scorer and broadcaster.
