Dubai based Emirates Airlines said it does not have immediate plans to begin services to Fiji, but did not rule out beginning the service later this year. Fiji’s civil aviation director has been quoted as saying authorities have been approached by Emirates officials regarding air service agreement talks. However a top Emirates official said “at this stage we have no immediate plans to operate to new gateways in the South Pacific”. Richard Vaughn, Divisional Senior Vice President of worldwide commercial operations for Emirates said they continue to dialogue with various countries.
