Luxury hotel brand Essque Hotels, based in Dubai, signed a contract Saturday to manage the Zalu Resort & Spa in Zanzibar. Essque Hotels agreement to manage the Zanzibar retreat is consistent with its plans to develop a global footprint. Zalu Resort & Spa has 9 private villas 40 ocean front suites, a branded spa, gallery space, and three specialty restaurants. It is located on the tropical east cast of Zanzibar, Tanzania. Essque Hotels is currently finalizing plans to open its first property on the Palm Jumeirah. Chief Executive Officer Danny Haddad said it is scheduled to open later this year.
