The GCC directors of the naturalization and residency departments reviewed travelling trends within the GCC, especially expats. Because of the new electronic link between the UAE and Oman, expatriates will soon be able to travel between the two countries more easily. Acting Director General of NRD at UAE Interior Ministry explained “The UAE foreign residents can use the ID or E-gate cards while travelling between the two countries without a visa” Brigadier Nassir Al Menhali said other countries will study the UAE-Oman link in order to help nationals and expatriates travel more easily in the future.
