Jordan Has Huge Potential For Chinese Tourism
Published by Irhal
A top Chinese diplomat in Amman said better promotion of Jordan’s tourism sites will help the country realize its huge potential for Chinese tourism. Yu Hongyang, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan said the government earlier this year streamlined the entry and visa procedures. He said this will greatly increase the number of Chinese tourists to the Jordan, especially after the current global economic crisis…

Chinese authorities previously required Chinese visitors to Jordan to apply for visas months in advance at Jordanian embassies, because of concerns they would overstay their visas and work in the country. In February, China announced they have simplified the procedures – now Chinese visitors can obtain visas at Jordan’s airports and border crossings. This will allow Jordan to tap into the huge market in India and China, home to more than 2 billion people.
