The Eid al Fitr holiday rush has begun! Emirates Airline has asked passengers to reach the airport early to avoid missing their flight. Dubai Airport is already experiencing tremendous growth in passenger traffic - with over 5 million passengers passing thru the airport every month since the last seven months - and during the Eid holiday a spike in traffic is expected. Across the GCC, numerous expats and locals are planning to spend their Eid al Fitr holiday abroad and the last few days before Eid will witness a surge of passengers at every airport in the region. It is advisable to reach the airport early as long lines for security checks, ticketing and immigration may mean that you will not be able to make it to the plane on time. And remember, there is always over booking of flights during the Eid rush so if you arrive late your seat may be allocated to another passenger.
