Movenpick Announced 2,000 New Jobs In Dubai

Movenpick Hotels and Resorts announced the creation of 2,000 new jobs in Dubai. Movenpick is on schedule to open five new hotels in Dubai over the next twelve months, as part of an ambitious expansion plan - starting with the Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach this year. The hotel group held a job fair this week to fill positions including stewards, waiters, assistant outlet managers, and supervisors. Because of the economic downturn the candidate pool was much stronger than in the past. Mr. Tapken said 40% of those applying at the job fair had previously been made redundant. He said 1,200 people attended the job fair but only 300 of these are likely to be offered jobs now.
