A new £1.35 million mosque has been built in Dundee, Scotland, under the patronage and generous contribution of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance. This is the first mosque with a minaret to be built in Dundee and can accommodate 160 male and 100 female worshippers. In addition to the prayer halls, it also has a hall for meetings and events. The UAE Ambassador to the UK, HE Abdulrahman Ghanem Almutaiwee, was among the guests at the opening ceremony.
