Oman attracting GCC visitors

More than 1 million tourists have visited Oman in the first half of 2014 and 38% of them have come from the GCC. Salim Al Mamari, Director General of tourism promotion, Oman Ministry of Tourism, said, “Because of its diverse geographical features, Oman is an all-year-round tourism destination, making it perfect for GCC tourists to take short-break vacations.”
Besides Oman Air, all regional airlines and low cost carriers fly to Muscat or Salalah and offer a great opportunity for visitors to take a short break in Oman. A trip to the Mutrah Souk in Muscat for buying trinkets or sailing on a yacht to see dolphins or just taking in the lush green landscape of Salalah are some of the diversions that a weekend in Oman can offer.
