Qatar Airways Expands Routes

Qatar Airways officials said they are expanding routes and increasing frequencies across all its destinations. Ali Al Rais, vice president of commercial for GCC said “We will be stepping up our frequencies to existing destinations” and that India is an important market. Beginning next month there will be two daily flights to Paris, while Stockholm, Zurich, Athens, and Madrid will increase from twice weekly to daily. Al Rais said they have been planning service for Australia for a while now. Flights to Melbourne will start on 6 December, and Sydney service will begin early next year. Qatar will operate the Doha-Melbourne route three times a week on a new Boeing B777-200 long range aircraft.
