Gold Coast Tourism has done its utmost to embody a friendly and welcoming environment for Muslim Arabs, by embracing a Ramadan-friendly approach to marketing activities over the last couple of years.
The tourism body is hopeful of maintaining the status quo of new and repeat visitors from GCC countries and has pioneered the acquisition of a Ramadan lounge offered free of charge. A Muslim Visitors Guide that details restaurants, theme parks and accommodation outlets which offer prayer mats, quiblas and Korans have also been developed as part of the City’s holiday proposition.
An outstandingly broad range of unique Australian experiences can also be had throughout the Gold Coast at low season fares, which should be reason enough for Arab travellers to consider the Australian city for future holiday travel.
Speaking at the recent Arab Travel Market, Dina Al Herais, Vice President-Commercial Operations, Emirates Holidays, suggested the Gold Coast as one of the destinations that are ticking all the right boxes to optimise its appeal among GCC countries over coming years.
“The key influencing factors which the Gold Coast has to its advantage are the comfortable weather conditions, a wide assortment of family activities, plus the destination offerings throughout a landscape of uninterrupted coastline and World Heritage-listed rainforest,” said Ms Al Herais.
“The action plan for the Gold Coast in attracting holiday-makers from GCC countries has been a long term approach which I am sure will place the region well into the future.
“Emirates Holidays will continue to work closely with the Gold Coast, as it does with all of its select destinations, to promote the Australian region’s key features that appeal to all target segments.”
Arab visitors are encouraged to indulge at any one of the many luxury hotels of the Gold Coast, stay for a while in one of Australia’s best apartment resorts or forget about the world in a hinterland retreat.
Choose memorable Gold Coast locations situated alongside pristine beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see, or succumb to nature as you unlock the secrets of World Heritage-listed rainforest from the vantage point of your own cottage style hinterland accommodation.
The Gold Coast offers the greatest assortment of theme parks in the southern hemisphere, 70 kilometres of pristine coastline, 100,000 hectares of world heritage listed rainforest, numerous private islands plus more than 600 restaurants and cafes. For Arab visitors in particular, there really is no better place to plan your next holiday or short term getaway.
