Sharjah Prepares For More Tourists

Sharjah, the culture capital of the UAE, is gearing up for a higher percentage of regional tourists as it increases its cultural tourist attractions. A wide variety of holiday package deals are being offered as part of the “Sharjah Summer Breaks Campaign”. Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) said Sharjah is well known for its cultural tourism attractions. Mohammad A. Al Noman said cultural tourism in Sharjah accounts for 37% of cultural tourism globally. Based on World Tourism Organization (WTO) statistics, this figure is growing 15% a year. He said “Sharjah is a leading destination for cultural, heritage, and family tourism.”
