is set to open its doors in June at the Hard Rock Hotel in Playa d’en Bossa, Ibiza. The restaurant, SubliMotion, will only allow 12 diners at a time, feeding them a whopping 20-course gastro-sensory meal and charging more than $2,000 by the end of it.
So what makes SubliMotion so unique? Well, for starters, the restaurant is literally a virtual light show, with tables and walls illuminated by changing lights and moving pictures - from a projected garden scene with fluttering butterflies to Versailles-style paintings. The decor is controlled by an operator who observes each diner and alters the ambiance based on every individual's notable experience. For example, if a customer takes a sip of her soup, the lights change to accompany the warm feeling she gets from the rich taste of goodness.
SubliMotion creates a micro environment, where everything is controlled by the cook, the diner and the setting. The idea of SubliMotion was brought about by one of Spain’s most famous chefs, Paco Roncero, who also owns and runs five other restaurants around the world, of which one earned two Michelin stars.
