What is worth noting is that out of these 25 locations, four of them are Disneyland theme parks around the world. Namely, in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris, and California.
Other spots that made it to this list were also predictable, popular tourist attractions.
However, another interesting observatn is that the most popular Facebook check-in locations in some countries are not their most popular tourist attractions.
In India, check-ins at the Golden Temple (the spiritual home of the Sikh religion) was at top spot, ahead of the Taj Mahal, while in Moscow, it was not Red Square but Gorky Park.
In Germany, the top spot went to Reeperbahn in Hamburg, the city’s seedy red-light district.
One reason why it was such a popular checked-in location is because the Reeperbahn is where The Beatles spent two crucial years playing at clubs in the area before they shot to fame.
Fans from around the world come to a famous intersection in Reeperbahn, the Beatles-Platz, to visit the streets where the legendary musicians walked.
