Turkey is actively promoting tourism in their country to Saudi Arabian travelers. The counselor of culture and information at said this is the first time a Turkish delegation has visited Saudi Arabia. More than 60,000 tourists from Saudi Arabia visited Turkey in 2008, up from about 40,000 in 2007. Turkey’s tourism revenue last year was $21 billion and represents 2.4% of GDP. More than 26 million tourists from all over the world visited Turkey last year.
