Wataniya Carries 250,000 Passengers In First Year

Wataniya Airways, Kuwait’s newest airline, carried over 250,000 passengers in its first year of operations, and held a special ceremony at its headquarters at Sheikh Saad Terminal to celebrate its first anniversary. Chairman Abdulsalam Al-Bahar, said the airline plans to add more popular and desirable routes in 2010. Al-Bahar said “More flight routes are to be added to cater to the passengers needs.” Wataniya Airways currently operates a fleet of four Airbus A320s and has signed agreements to rent three new aircraft this year. The airline operated its first flight to Dubai Airport on January 24, 2009 and was listed on Kuwait Stock Exchange December 15, 2008.
