If you were not in Chile last month you may have missed out hearing of a colorful festival that takes place every July 16 in the small oasis town of La Tirana in the middle of the Atacama Desert in Chile. But all is not lost. If you still wish to visit Chile this summer - it is winter there now - you can go skiiing or snowboarding on the slopes of the Mocho-Choshuenco Volcano. You can rent equipment and find hotels at the “Bosque Nevado” adventure ski center at the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve which has just opened its winter season.
