All-seeing body scans installed in Dubai

April 1- All-seeing body scanners have been set up at all points of entry in Dubai, including all terminals of the airports, on a trial basis to determine whether the technology can detect illegal of life-threatening items that passengers may be carrying. The scans have been deemed controversial since religious and human rights groups pointed out that they violate a passenger’s privacy – the scan looks past a person’s clothing to reveal him/her in the nude. Critics also feel that these scans are hazardous to health since the low-dose terahertz rays used in them can have adverse affects in the long run.
