Beirut airport registers growth

June 25 2010 - The Hariri International Airport in Beirut, has registered a growth in air transport activity in the first five months of this year, said Bank Audi’s Lebanon Weekly Monitor. The number of passengers, planes, and loaded and unloaded freight has grown significantly since the start of this year. Air traffic movements increased by 22.9 percent while passengers at the airport went up by 18.8 percent. Total planes using the airport amounted to 24,840 while passengers at the airport totaled 1,914,744.
The number of passengers leaving the airport increased by 19.5 percent year-on-year while arrivals went up by 18 percent. Arriving passengers totaled 952,023 in the first five months of the year whereas departing passengers stood at 962,721.
