Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest man made structure, will turn its lights off for Earth Hour 2010, between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm on March 27th. A statement from Earth Hour organizers expressing appreciation for the growing number of participants, praised Burj Khalifa, calling it the epitome of global cooperation, and perfect for the campaign’s ideals. More than 4,000 cities are participating in Earth Hour, this year, up from one city in 2007 when the campaign began. Earth Hour Executive Director Andy Ridley said “Earth Hour demonstrates the determination of the world’s citizens for a better and healthier world. It is an opportunity for the global community to speak in one voice on the issue of climate change.”
