Coming Up… $250 Million ‘Jeddah Eye’!

A ccording to Ghassan Al Sulaiman, chairman of Jeddah’s City Centre Development Company, the city is soon to become only the sixth city in the world to have a giant ferris wheel similar to the London Eye in Britain . Construction on the project will begin in 2009. Once completed, the wheel will be 150 metres high and is expected to attract an estimated 500,000 visitors each year.
Various buildings, including a hotel, a museum, shopping malls and a variety of restaurants and cafes will be built around the Jeddah Eye. The central area will also have a park, a beach, a museum, an open arena for festivities and a fountain.
