Demand For Ramadan Tents Falls

The holy month is expected to begin on 22 August, depending on when the moon can be viewed. A traditional part of Arab-Islamic culture is breaking fast with Iftar meals in Ramadan tents at sunset. This has evolved into social gatherings lasting well into the evenings with shisha being smoked in air conditioned comfort. General Manager of Al Mumtaz Tents said a clear picture of demand will emerge later. Shakhil Ahmed said “Last year we had to turn down many customers because all the available inventory was booked and our staff was fully occupied.”
