Emirates Chief: A380 Technical Glitches Will Be Resolved

Airbus and airlines flying the A380 superjumbo are working at ironing out technical difficulties the aircraft has experienced over the last few months. Emirates Airline, the biggest buyer of the world’s biggest aircraft, had a flight delay of several hours on its Dubai to South Korea service this week because of fuel system glitches. President of Emirates, Tim Clark, said “I think 40 airplanes down the line, they’ll have ironed out all the bugs. These are not untypical for a new aircraft programme.” Problems with the double decker A380 draw more attention than do other jets because airlines promote them as their flagship model, and their size and luxuries like private cabins draw travelers. The aircraft is still a rare site in airports, with only 23 in service so far.
