Etihad Airways has carried more than 17 million passengers since it launched in November 2003 and now has a fleet of 52 aircraft serving 60 destinations. It announced the biggest ever commercial aviation start-up order of 29 Airbus and Boeing aircraft in 2004 and in 2008 placed orders for 205 aircraft worth over $43 billion. It’s fleet size is expected to reach 100 in five years.
