to Latakia (Syria) and Karachi (Pakistan) yesterday. Flydubai is now flying to three separate cities in Syria while Karachi is its first Pakistani destination.
Speaking on the occasion, flydubai’s CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said: "We're very pleased to be able to provide another flight to Syria and we are confident that the vibrant port of Latakia will be another successful route for flydubai. There are close ties between the United Arab Emirates and Syria, with a large population of Syrian expatriates living in the UAE and non-oil trade between the two countries reaching US$322 million in 2009."
Al Ghaith also commented on the route to Karachi; "We're delighted to start flights to Karachi today. It's a very important route for us and one we're looking forward to operating successfully for a long time to come. Flydubai's aim is to make travel a little less complex, a little less stressful and a little less expensive and thereby encourage more people to travel more often.”
