WASC is an annual ski and snowboard competition organized by IASF, International Airline Ski Federation, and has been held annually for over 50 years.
Founded in 1960, this will be the second time that the WASC is held in Japan, having held it in Naeba in Niigata prefecture in 1978. In 2012, 600 attendees including competitors from more than 30 airline companies including Lufthansa, Delta Air Lines and Qantas Airwaysand supporters are expected to gather in Niseko for three race disciplines; Alpine, Snowboard and Nordic. Darryl Marsden, General Manager of Hilton Niseko Village says, “Hilton Niseko Village has always been renowned to be a perfect base to enjoy the beauty Niseko has to offer. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase sports tourism in Japan and also to present Niseko as an international resort to over 600 key airline personnel, colleagues and travelers.”
