If you are in New York City on July 20 2013 then watch out for flying tomatoes. Tide, the detergent, is sponsoring a Tomato Battle where you can come and throw tomatoes at each other. The Tomato Battle is a new event being organized in multiple cities across the United States apparently in an attempt to copy the famous La Tomatina Festival which is held every August near Valencia in Spain where reportedly 50,000 people gather to throw 100 tonnes of tomato at each other - what a colossal waste of ketchup!
