Dubai, UAE, October 19, 2010 - HP and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) today announced a broad technology agreement that will see IHG upgrade and streamline its existing technology infrastructure to address new business and growth opportunities. The annual framework agreement with IHG, the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms, covers IHG’s 77 hotels and resorts across the Middle East region.…

The agreement includes products from HP’s Enterprise Business portfolio, comprising servers, data center, storage and networking solutions.
HP was selected by IHG as one of its preferred partners for its cost-effective and comprehensive solution that best fits the hotel’s technology needs in the region. The HP infrastructure will help IHG significantly reduce operational expenses, eliminate time lags and contribute to overall customer satisfaction through prompt and quick turnaround of requested services.
“HP’s vision, product expertise, regional presence and most importantly the team’s thorough understanding of our business needs makes them a great addition to our technology partners. The team has helped us identify and customise the right solutions to address the needs of IHG’s various properties located across the Middle East. Through this partnership we aim to dramatically improve application and network performance and better manage our data centres, allowing us a competitive advantage within the region’s hospitality industry,” said Ali Saeb , Director of Technology MEA, IHG.
The implementation aims to allow IHG to deploy, automate and manage a complete range of applications side by side, within the same infrastructure and significantly improve performance and availability of the most demanding application workloads.
