Seychelles President James Michel has met with the Honorable Yasutoshi Nishimura of Japan, who is undertaking a tour of the region. The Honorable Nishimura is the Deputy Chairman and Chief Secretary of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party Policy Research Council, and he is also a member of the House of Representatives of Japan.
Their discussion centered on the opportunities for cooperation between Seychelles and Japan in the fields of fisheries, tourism, climate change, and anti-piracy work.
Mr. Nishimura met President Michel during the President’s visit to Japan in 2009, when Mr. Nishimura held the post of Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs.
