What better way to promote wildlife than in a zoo! The Kenya Tourism Board and Kenya Airways are organizing an event at the Al Ain Zoo in the UAE to to promote Kenya as an authentic wildlife safari destination and showcase the variety of cultures present in the diverse African nation. A two-day event will be held on January 10 and 11 2014 at the Al Ain Zoo to encourage increased tourism from the UAE to Kenya.
Promotional activities will include a Masai Cultural Troupe performance and interactive drumming classes, hair braiding and Kenyan Henna to showcase the cultural diversity of Kenya, as well as a face painter and fun photo opportunity corners giving visitors the chance to dress like tribesmen. There will also be a competition run over the two days with the winner getting a four-day trip to magical Kenya for an exciting safari.
Kenya Tourism Board Managing Director Muriithi Ndegwa said "the UAE is one of the key tourism source markets to Kenya and has shown remarkable growth in the past few years." Tourism from the UAE has grown by 24% last year and over 20,000 visitors from the UAE visited Kenya. This road show is likely to increase tourism to "magical Kenya."
