When traveling on KLM starting in early 2012, you can use Facebook and select whom you wish to sit next to. Usually people tend to avoid the middle seat but this may result in people willing to sit next to someone whom they identify through Facebook to be a potential business partner or perhaps someone who has a pretty face and they would like to spend a few hours with.
Details of how this will work have not yet been announced but it will certainly be interesting to see how this develops.
