Malaysia to host Islamic Tourism Conference

The International Islamic Tourism Conference & Travel Mart (ITCM) has recieved a favourable response from local and foreign industry players. The event is scheduled from October 28th to the 31st at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur and aims to promote and enhance Muslim travel and tourism. There are over 200 participants expected to attend the conference and currently 8 countries have shown positive interest including Saudi Arabia, Brunei Darussalam, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Egypt, Oman, Iran and South Africa.
The event will comprise of two main conferences and exhibitions - the International Islamic Tourism Conference and Travel Mart 2010 - both of which are for trade visitors only. There will also be a travel mart for consumers which will be attended by industry players and the public.
The event is being organized by the Islamic Tourism Centre in collaboration with the Minsitry of Tourism, Malaysia, Malaysia Association of Tour and Travel Agents and Bumiputra Tour and Travel Agents Association. Since the Islamic Tourism or Halal Tourism market is rapidly expanding globally, the organizers hope that ITCM will become an annual event, allowing all players in the industry to have a platform to converge and develop their businesses in the future as well.
