Michelin to make restaurant reservations easier

The partnership with Livebookings.com will first launch in France and Germany, offering instant table reservations at thousands of restaurants across both countries before being rolled out across the rest of Europe.

Currently, Michelin’s restaurant site provides descriptions, ratings, inspector and user-generated reviews but users cannot make reservations directly.

Livebookings services will aim to rival real-time online reservation site OpenTable. Headquartered in San Francisco, OpenTable also operates in Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico and the UK, seating 10 million diners a month in 27,000 restaurants.
