A senior official for Aldar Hotels and Hospitality said Yas Hotel in Abu Dhabi will be full on F1 race weekend. The hotel straddles the F1 racing circuit in Abu Dhabi. Other hotels there are also full with very long waiting lists. Mr. Bell said Aldar Developments had achieved a “miraculous development coup” by delivering many things on time before the Grand Prix event. He said in normal circumstances there is a long period or soft opening leading up to a heavier trading period. Yas Hotel has two towers, one which sits on the land side of the track and is set at right angles to the track in the marina, on the other side of the track. Mr. Bell explained because the hotel expands the track itself, and the track goes through the building, so one can see the track from every room in the hotel.
