Oman Air Passenger Traffic Up 17 Percent

Oman Air’s cargo division saw an impressive 67 percent increase in revenue year-on-year, although the increase was from a low base. Oman Air’s freight division accounted for only 2 percent of total revenues in 2008, much lower than other carriers. CEO Peter Hill said the company must increase this ratio to 12 percent of total revenues over the next five years. During 2010, the carrier plans to extend its network to Katmandu, Kuala Lumpur, and other locations in East Africa. Two more A330 aircraft will join its fleet over the next year.
